Part II of the Historic Antique Frame Collection of Eli Wilner
Helmuth Stone Gallery will offer the unprecedented museum-quality lifetime collection of Master Framer and frame restorer Eli Wilner. The total collection boasts over 2,500 frames, ranging from the 18th through the 20th century. The collection previously included frames adorning 28 paintings on the walls of the White House, as well as the hand-carved and gilded eagle- crested frame for “Washington Crossing the Delaware” by Emanuel Leutze, which is currently featured as the focal point of the American Wing at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. These 2,500 frames are the original antique frames from which Wilner made his replica frames from.
