Albrecht Durer (German, 1471-1528) “The Adoration of the Magi- 1511” Woodcut. With Lugt collector’s mark (Lugt- 3583) verso (lower left). According to Lugt, it is a handwritten mark in ink. The mark itself is an “aR”. In the Lugt catalogue the letter “a” is a lower case letter, whereas the letter “R” is an uppercase letter. Consequently, the mark on the woodcut does correspond to the Lugt mark.
