Exhibited Late 18th C. Russian Icon depicting the Archangel Michael. Oil on wood. Angels, also called “Bodiless Powers”, are frequently depicted in icons. Michael is the great heavenly soldier and leader of the Armies of Heaven who fights against the powers of evil.
