Rod Goebel (New Mexico, 1946-1993) “Pueblo Bonito” Oil on canvas painting. Signed lower left. Inscribed verso. Painting has puncture (upper right). Goebel attended the University of New Mexico and the Colorado Institute of Art. He was a member of the National Academy of Western Art and was one of the Taos Six. In 1979, Goebel was elected to the National Academy of Western Art. His work has been shown at The Museum of the Southwest, Midland, Texas; Museum of Fine Arts, New Mexico; The National Cowboy Hall of Fame and the Western Heritage Center, Oklahoma; the Museum of New Mexico, Albuquerque; Philbrook Museum, Tulsa, Oklahoma; the Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff, and in corporate and private collections throughout the country including Wells Fargo Bank, New York, and The Southland Corporation, Dallas.
